Where/When?
We meet for Caucus to vote on Political Party Leaders on March 17th. Credentialing begins at 6pm, meeting starts at 7pm. Please come before 7pm so we can get you checked in.
Bring Your ID.
If you want to speed up the check-in process (Credentialing) Republicans can fill in their info ahead of time using: https://reg.utgop.org/, you do still need to bring a State ID.
Republicans in our precinct meet at North Park Elementary (2800 N 800 E) in the Library. I as the host will do all I can to keep the meeting to 1 hour.
Democrats meet at Eccles Conference Center, USU 550 N 900 E
What are we voting about?
We are electing (from members of our Neighborhoods) Precinct leaders and Delegates. These folks will vote as our representatives in choosing who will get the Party nomination for Government positions.
Because Utah is a predominantly Republican State, winning the Republican nomination is often effectively winning the whole election. Additionally, fewer people vote in the Caucus than general election.
For both of these reasons your vote at Caucus is vastly more powerful than your vote in November.
See what these positions are in detail at: https://precinctportal.org/precinct-roles/
Can I run for a position?
Yes, Please! There's no fee to run, you don't even have to declare that you are a candidate before the meeting. There's very minimal paperwork that you can fill out during the meeting if you are willing to run. Though it would be helpful if you let me know if you are willing to run!

How long will the meeting take?
It depends, but as Caucus Host I am determined to keep the meeting as short as possible within the rules. I will be very sad if it takes more than an hour. I will be very happy if it's less than 30 minutes.
How do I prepare?
Bring your ID to Caucus night.
Bring neighbor(s) to Caucus night.
Only registered members of the Party can vote or be elected in the Caucus,
Anyone can attend as long as they abide the rules.
Voters who are unaffiliated can join the party at the meeting (You cannot switch from R->D or D->R on Caucus night)

What nominations will Delegates get to vote on?
County Delegates: The only contested nominations are County Attorney (Republicans) and State Board of Ed (Democrats)
County Delegates also elect County Party leaders.
They also vote in "Special Elections" when a current official resigns before their term ends, they directly choose the replacement to finish the term, which has happened a lot lately.
April 11th 9:00 am Ridgeline Highschool
State Delegates: US House Rep (Congressman/woman) for Utah District #2, State Delegates also elect State Party leaders.
April 25 9:00 am Utah Valley Univerisity in Orem
To the best of my knowledge all other positions are either uncontested (Either totally uncontested, or uncontested within a party), or the position that represents our precinct is not up for election during this election cycle.
At the County Level, this is the official list of candidates: https://www.cachecounty.gov/elections/candidatedeclarations.html
